Saving Energy One Bulb at a Time
Let's begin our Sustain tips!
How is 2017 treating you so far?! We hope it has been a nice start to the new year and the new you!
Our first tip for you is a simple one just to get the ball rolling. For the first week of 2017, buy one LED light bulb and install it in your house. Simple, right?!
Here are some of the benefits to using LED bulbs over conventional alternatives:
LED light bulbs use less electricity than their conventional counterparts by up to 90% less!
LED light bulbs emit less heat and are less likely to cause a fire.
LED bulbs last on average 60,000 hours compared to 1,500 hours for incandescent bulbs.
Here you can find some smart LED bulbs to save energy and set the mood: Amazon Smart LED Bulbs
We are well on our way to transitioning our entire house from conventional to LED light bulbs. We know that LED bulbs are still more expensive and thus we have not converted every light in the house to LED, yet! That being said, LED’s really are a nice, simple way to start a more sustainable lifestyle. I also personally like how bright and vibrant LED lights can be. The Edison LED bulbs have an awesome, almost vintage look to them. They are kind of an old school aesthetic to a cutting edge technology! Let us know what you think about our first tip and maybe leave some ideas in the comments section below!
Until next time,
