Morning Tea or Coffee

Each morning, we have our Morning Tea/Coffee. Nic’s a coffee drinker, but I have never acquired a taste for coffee and love, love my tea! The tea drawer in our kitchen is my favorite drawer --if you can have a favorite!

We use our morning drink to kick off our day with tons of fat. This is our breakfast, which I love because it’s simple, easy to drink, easy to bring to work, etc. to get your day started. Honestly, this holds me over until at least noon!

I make a full-diary version on Tuesdays and Thursdays when we eat our salads for lunch. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, because our casserole is heavy in dairy, I make a diary-free version using plant-based fats. I think it’s important to change these up a bit and diversify how and where you are getting your sources of fat and calories throughout the week.

Dairy Morning Tea or Coffee

Blend together the following ingredients in a high-powered blender to create a well-mixed and frothy morning drink:

Freshly brewed coffee/steeped tea (I prefer a robust black tea like Scottish breakfast)

1 tablespoon of Bulletproof MCT Oil

1 tablespoon of Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil

1 tablespoon of Vital Farms Alfresco unsalted butter

1 tablespoon of Organic Valley heavy whipping cream

This morning drink packs in around 400 calories, with 0g of carbs and 45g of fat!

Dairy-Free Morning Tea or Coffee

Again, blend together the following ingredients in a high-powered blender to create a well-mixed and frothy morning drink:

Freshly brewed coffee/steeped tea (I prefer a flowery black tea like Earl Gray or Lady Londonderry)

1 tablespoon of Dr. Bronner's Coconut Oil

1 tablespoon of Manitoba Harvest hemp hearts, raw and shelled

1 tablespoon of Navitas Organics cacao butter

1 ounce of So Delicious Organic Coconut Milk, unsweetened, plain

This morning drink packs in around 430 calories, with 1.5g of carbs, 3g of protein, 47g of fat!
